IX.5.11 Pompeii. December 2007. Room e, ala, on west side of atrium, looking towards north-west corner.
According to BdI, on the walls of this room traces of burning could have been seen.
According to Bragantini, the lower plinth and zoccolo of the walls in the ala were black.
The zoccolo was divided into panels with hanging garlands separated by narrow compartments with painted plants.
The middle zone of the walls contained a yellow central panel, and red side panels.
On the north and south walls, each panel contained a painted medallion.
On the west wall, the side panels contained a vignette of a cupid on the red background.
The upper zone of the walls was white.

IX.5.11 Pompeii. 1881. Atrium, west side, copy of a painting of Spring.
She had a lamb on her shoulders and held fresh cheese in a basket.
This would have been seen on the pilaster between rooms f and e.
See Presuhn E., 1882. Pompeji: Die Neuesten Ausgrabungen von 1874 bis 1881. Leipzig: Weigel. (VIII, plate II).
According to Fiorelli, on the red plaster of the pilaster that was between this cubiculum and the preceding ala, was painted a pretty female figure crowned with leaves and wearing a green robe and yellow mantle, carrying on her shoulder a lamb, and holding a basket in her right hand.

degli Scavi di Antichitŕ, 1877, (p.250)
According to Mau, 0.34 high, it was a painting showing Spring, turning her face half to the right and half towards the viewer. She was crowned with some long and narrow leaves and yellow and white flowers, dressed in a double green robe that left her right shoulder bare and her left arm wrapped in a fluttering robe in the guise of a shawl, on her feet were white shoes. A lamb was supported on the nape of her neck and in the right hand, she held a green basket with a white lump (ricotta).

Above a simple black zoccolo with panels
separated by compartments, the panels of the middle zone of the wall were
delimited by architectural views on a white background, containing medallions
with couples: in the white upper area was a masculine figure with palm in his
left hand and a crown in the right hand.

Presuhn makes the comment that in this picture the woman has a head cover whereas in the original there were two narrow circlets of gold in the hair.
