According to Mau, this painting (0.41 high x 0.39 wide) showed a sitting Narcissus, his legs to the left and his left arm resting wrapped in a red cloak: he was crowned with leaves in his long hair: in his left hand were two javelins with the tips facing down. His face was turned to the viewer, his eyes looking down where water was represented, his image was not visible, but the relative part of the painting was damaged. Behind Narcissus was a Cupid, watching his face and holding a garland in his right hand, of which a part fell onto the thigh of the young man, whilst another part was supported by the right hand of the same. In the background were bushes.
See Bullettino dell’Instituto di Corrispondenza Archeologica (DAIR), 1879, (p.203-4)
According to Fiorelli, in this painting (0.37 x 0.40) one could see Adonis sitting to the right, the upper part of his body naked, whilst the lower part was wrapped in an ample red mantle of which the edge reposed on his left arm. In his left arm were two lances, and a garland of flowers seemed to have been in the other hand. Near to him was a Cupid also holding a garland.

(p.249).
