VII.4.57 Pompeii. Pre 1843. Drawing of seated actress holding a mask by La Volpe, described in RMB as –
colorati.»

VII.4.57 Pompeii. Pre 1843. Drawing by Angelini of two floating figures
See Real
Museo Borbonico, vol. XIII (13), 1843, Tav. XL (40).
« The Pompeian fresco has only just been
found in the so-called house of colored capitals, it seems to have two very gay
winged Geniuses, one male and the other female……. Vaguely
painted on a blue field they are hovering on their wings …….. I do not change the
subject for the other beautiful painting placed at the foot of this same panel. And
here is expressed the Genius of the hunt in the act of wanting to throw a dart
with his right hand, clutching two others in his left hand, at an angry lion
who has pounced on a bull who is fleeing in the middle of a countryside
finished by a leafy oak …”
