He constructed the tomb for himself, his wife Pithia Rufilla freedwoman of Publius Pithius, and their two sons Vitalis and Ianuarius.

Pompeii Porta Nocera. May 2006. Enclosure (left) between 15ES and 17ES with lava block step in wall.
According to D’Ambrosio, the area between the tombs 15ES and 17ES was enclosed by a wall.
This was in Opus Incertum of lava, a little Sarno limestone and fragments and originally covered in plaster, visible in photos of the excavations but now lost.
Access to the enclosure was by a block of lava set into the wall.
Moreover, the western wall of the enclosure existed before this wall, which later became common with the Barbidii tomb.
On the north side, a reconstruction following the construction of the street wall is evident.
It can be hypothesized that the west wall constitutes the residue of a pre-existing enclosure into which tomb 17ES was inserted.
