According to PPM, the pool was reached by climbing up three steps, and then by going down into the pool by two steps.
The steps were coated with Opus signinum plaster painted azure blue, as also was the inside of the pool.
The outside wall of the pool was painted as imitation marble in slabs of Numidian marble.
Found on the east and west walls (left and right walls) were Nilotic scenes, but today totally illegible (they were almost illegible when found).
The floor was made of cocciopesto with rows of large white tesserae.

Room 31, frigidarium, both the east and west walls were seen painted with a high black zoccolo, decorated with bacchic herms, between which were suspended garlands of flowers and foliage. Today, nothing is legible and has been completely lost.

In the floor of the arched schola labra, the only two remaining diamond-shaped slabs of marble can be seen.
The rest of the floor having been carried away by ancient explorers.

The floor of opus sectile formed of diamond-shaped marble slabs had been removed and carried away by ancient explorers.
In the centre of the floor had been a hexagonal shape.
