VII.15.2 Pompeii. December 2007. Garden, looking north to House of Fabius Rufus, and Vesuvius at the rear. According to Garcia y Garcia, during the bombardment of 13th September 1943 two bombs fell on this house. One destroyed the latrine on the extreme west of the southern walkway of the portico. The other caused the demolition of a part of the perimeter wall of the garden on the north-west side of the house.
The changes to the area also caused the fall of the columns on the south portico. The collection of amphorae, provenanced from this house, that were stored in the garden were mostly destroyed.

VII.15.2 Pompeii. March 2009. Looking south across dining room on east side of tablinum.
According to PPM –
The zoccolo would have been black and was subdivided into panels which were crossed horizontally by “carpet borders” separated by compartments with painted plants. The middle area of the walls would have been yellow with panels with “carpet borders” separated by narrow architectural ends.
