On the west side, centre left, the columns of the Forum were replaced. On the south side, on the right, the original columns of the portico still remains.
“The ancient portico of the Forum of Pompeii, of tufa covered with stucco, of Greek (Doric) style, in later times was largely replaced, or it probably all had to be, by a portico in that limestone, called travertine in Naples, of heavier and less beautiful form, but of more solid and perfect construction.
On the entire west side, the ancient portico was demolished – still recognizable by the bases remaining in place – and they built or began to build the new one. On the south side, and on that part of the east side that is south of the road called Via dell'Abbondanza, the ancient portico remained.”

VII.8 Pompeii Forum. September 2005. South side, looking west. The double row of columns formed the colonnade of Popidius.
According to John Dobbins this was probably constructed under Roman oversight in the early years of the Sullan period, 89-80 BC.
In the 1899 English version by Mau, it states:
Near the southeast corner an inscription was found:
V[ibius] Popidius Ep[idii] f[ilius] q[aestor] porticus faciendas coeravit
'Vibius Popidius, the son of Epidius, when quaestor caused this colonnade to be erected.'
See Mau, A., 1899, translated by Kelsey, F. W., Pompeii: Its Life and Art. New York: Macmillan. (p. 50).

In the 1908, German version, it says “south-west corner”.
See Mau, A., 1908. Pompeji in Leben und Kunst, Leipzig: Engelmann, (p. 47.)

The Naples museum information card for the plaque says “Pompeii, from the area in front of the Basilica (1814)”.
