Painting by Nicola La Volpe of a medallion with a couple, perhaps Mars and Venus, perhaps Hippolytus and Phaedra.
This medallion was seen between two doorways on the west wall in the north-west corner of the atrium.

Nicola La Volpe of three subjects seen on the north and west wall of the
atrium.
On the
left, the figure with a jug and plate could be seen on the yellow background on
the north wall at the west end, but now much faded and only outline remains.
(Sogl. 830).
In the
centre is the medallion from the pilaster between two doorways, see above.
On the
right, the figure with the lyre could be seen at the north end of the west wall
on a red background, but only the lower part remains now. (Sogl.821).

Limestone inscription recording the rebuilding of the town walls
in about 70BCE after the damages caused by Sulla’s siege, on display in
Antiquarium.

According to Epigraphic Database Roma it was found in VII.1.40, House of M. Caesius Blandus (or of Mars and Venus), in pieces 'some of which served for the edge of a door, and others spread on the floor of the peristyle' (aa. 1862-1868).
