VI.16.27 Pompeii. March 2009. Doorway to room C, cubiculum, on south side of fauces.
According to NdS, it had bare walls and floor with pieces of brick buried into it (laterizio).
To the left of the north wall was the only recess for a bed that would have extended along the west wall.
Above this was a rectangular window overlooking the Vicolo dei Vettii.

According to NdS, this floor was made of opus signinum and sloped slightly upwards from the doorway.
The walls had a high dado of plaster imitating a coarse decoration of marble, and above it was a simple rough plaster.

According to NdS, this room was smaller than room C on the south side of the fauces.
It had a floor of cocciopesto.

In its main area, it had yellow protruding ashlars.

According to NdS, this was a rustic room with a narrow rectangular window in the west wall.

The pilaster was made of rows of bricks and tufa cut into the manner of bricks, the remains of the column to the west was all brick (seen on right of photo), while the other was made of brick and limestone.

The masonry staircase was preserved to the first landing against the north wall, then it would have turned to the left.
The wall to the right of the staircase conserved some remains of the second style decoration.

On the north and west walls of this room, were the usual square openings for the support of shelving.
