Kuivalainen describes the central figure as -
“An enthroned frontal figure holding a cantharus in his right hand and a thyrsus in his left; the hips and legs are covered with a himation.”
He comments that –
“The identification of this partly robed and effeminate figure as Bacchus with his characteristic attributes is more likely than Libera or Ariadne, who are seldom depicted in this pose.”
