The flooring found in this room was of cocciopesto with a net of meandering swastikas, alternating with squares with a white central cross. When excavated, only a fragment of black zoccolo was found on the east wall.

The flooring found in this room was of cocciopesto with a net of meandering swastikas, alternating with squares with a white central cross.

When excavated, only a fragment of black zoccolo was found on the east wall.

VIII.2.34 Pompeii. May 2006. Room in north-west corner of atrium. According to NdS, the kitchen was entered through the first doorway on the west side of the atrium. As well as the hearth and latrine, the kitchen also contained another rustic room that at one time was linked to the atrium. The posticum at VIII.2.33 was also near the kitchen. See Notizie degli Scavi, April 1885, (p.163)

According to NdS, the kitchen was entered through the first doorway on the west side of the atrium.

As well as the hearth and latrine, the kitchen also contained another rustic room that at one time was linked to the atrium.

The posticum at VIII.2.33 was also near the kitchen.
