According to the PAP information card in this house –
“The garden area is enclosed on three sides by a cryptoporticus
(covered corridor).
In one of the phases in which the house was built, the short side
at the end of the garden was embellished with an aedicula (tabernacle) flanked
by two fountains and niches set between the arches of the cryptoporticus.
The three rooms opening onto the upper terrace at the north end
had the benefit of the view of this splendid porticoed viridarium with its
aedicula.”
