The middle zone of the wall was faded but would have been panelled and with narrow compartments.
The decoration on the south wall was completely illegible.

According to Jashemski, a corridor to the left of the tablinum (excavated in 1827) led to the narrow portico.
This was supported by four columns on the north, which enclosed the garden on the west, north and east.
The triclinium at the rear of the garden was completely open to the garden.

VI.10.2 Pompeii. March 2009. Looking north.
Remains of room to east of oecus, this would have been the first room on the left of the peristyle.
According to Garcia y Garcia, on 13th September 1943 at 5 in the evening, a huge bomb fell on the north-east section of the house.
This caused the total ruin of three rooms with the total loss of all paintings and wall plaster and stucco.
The north-east and east perimeter walls were also destroyed.

VI.10.2 Pompeii. March 2009. Remains of rooms in north-east corner, destroyed by bombing in 1943.
According to Helbig, paintings found in the second room on the left of the peristyle (roughly to the left of where all the wood is piled) were –
on the left (west) wall was a painting of a Warrior asking the Oracle, (no longer there), Helbig 1391
on the right (east) wall was a painting of Perseus and
Andromeda, Helbig 1187. MN 8993.

VI.10.2 Pompeii. Anonymous painting, but similar to engraving by Marsigli, of Perseus and Andromeda.
This appears to be the only documentation of this painting which was detached because as one can read in MB –
“this picture was excavated very damaged by the events of time and the eruption”.
