According to Fiorelli, this was the largest of the four rooms found along the south side.
When found this one had recesses for two beds.

According to Fiorelli, this area had another three smaller rooms, preceded by an area with a lean-to roof.

According to Breton, on the left (the west wall in the south-west corner) would have been the wall with the painting of Neptune.
According to Helbig, the atrium also contained a painting –
the chariot of Artemis (246) as well as one of Poseidon or Neptune. (172)
