On the night of 16th September 1943, two bombs fell on the northern section.
Four columns and three plutei of the north portico were destroyed.
Also destroyed were the perimeter wall towards the north, and the stables accessible from Vicolo dei Gladiatori.
There was a total loss of the hunt scenes that decorated the external front of the pluteus between the first and second column of the extreme east side of the north portico.

Also destroyed was a painting of a tiger biting a dog and in his turn being assailed by another dog that was leaping onto him.

Unfortunately, it was found damaged and destroyed to a large degree. It shows a solid construction of wood in the middle of water.

Painting 4 – Remains of landscape painting of Daedalus and Icarus.
A small fisherman can be seen at the lower left of the painting, nothing much else remains.

The painting showed Daedalus flying, Icarus falling, Helios was shown in his cart at the top.
In the lower part could be seen two ships in the sea and a fisherman at the seashore.
There was also a sacellum, and on the left a little house above a cliff.
