V.4.3 Pompeii. March 2009. Doorway to cupboard in north-east corner of atrium. West wall.
According to Boyce, items were found among the ruins of two cupboards in the room to the east of the atrium.
They may have been found in this cupboard, or else in the triclinium on the east side of the atrium (see part 1)?
Together with a hoard of 130 silver and 54 bronze coins, also found were three bronze statuettes of the household gods.
The Genius, and two Lares each holding cornucopia and patera and standing solidly on two feet.
A marble statuette of Venus Anadyomene and a small marble altar may also have belonged to the shrine.
