According to Liselotte Eschebach the painting identified by Fröhlich as F20 may come from the facade of this shop.

III.8.1 Pompeii. 1841 drawing by G. Abbate of painting of Mercury on façade at entrance of shop.

This was a painting of a floating Mercury clad in a short tunic, mantle partly inflated, winged sandals and petasos (hat).

He had the marsupium in his right hand and the caduceus rests on his left shoulder.

A triangular structure under the feet of the God was understood to be an indication of the land.

According to ICCD database, the painting corresponding to the drawing, documented only in this drawing had already vanished in 1860.

It decorated the façade of an insula of Regio III of Pompeii, located in the stretch of the Via di Nola closest to the Nola Gate.

Now in Naples Archaeological Museum. Inventory number ADS 90.
