I.14.15 Pompeii. Thermopolium of Equitius.

Linked to I.14.14 (and I.14.1?). Excavated by May 1984.

(Originally, this Insula was numbered as Reg. II, Insula 14, and then in the 1950’s at the moment of excavation altered to Reg I, Insula 14).

According to Giordano and Casale, found on 20th October 1957, on the west side of the entrance was -

CEIVM II VIR EQVITIVS ROG
ET HELVIVM SABINVM
AED OVF      [GC4]

According to Cooley, this was from I.14.11 and translates as –

Equitius asks you to elect Ceius duumvir and Helvius Sabinus aedile.
