On ADS 1210a the arch is referred to as the Arco di Caio e Lucio Cesare.
Caius/Gaius Julius Caesar and Lucius Julius Caesar were sons of Marcus
Vipsanius Agrippa and Giulia the Elder, daughter of Augustus.
They were part of the imperial family of Augustus, known as the Julio-Claudian dynasty.
The year of their father's death (12 BC), their
maternal grandfather, Augustus adopted them and named them as his heirs.
They grew up and were educated by their grandparents but did not succeed Augustus as they died before him, in 4 AD and 2 AD respectively.
